School Programs

The Toronto Railway Museum is happy to welcome your school group. Schools are welcome to join us for a Guided Tour (must be pre-booked) or one of our guided programs below. Email us at education@trha.ca to secure your spot today.

Our programs are developed to meet the goals of the Ontario curriculum. They can be offered in-person, in the classroom, or virtually.

If you are interested in either program as downloadable content for your classroom, please contact education@trha.ca.

Railways Build Cities (Suitable for Grade 9)

TRM school programs - Railways Build Cities

How does the development of railways impact how our city grows? In this program, students will learn about the many different roles transit plays in our cities through experiential learning. They will use primary and secondary resources to analyze how a new rail line will affect the city, finishing with a mock Town Hall where they can present their findings.

Lost & Found: A Journey with Mr. Mathly (Suitable for Grade 3)

TRM school programs - Mr. Mathly

This program will allow students to test their learning of the measurement unit of the Ontario Grade 3 Mathematics Curriculum. In this program, students will take on the role of a railway porter, Mr. Mathly, and apply their math and problem-solving skills to help five different passengers on a train journey.
